Oh hey! It's definitely not February 10, 2026 when I'm posting this. 😏
Sometimes it's tough to get this done, but here we are.
Sometimes it's tough to get this done, but here we are.
Aani got her mission call to Wichita, Kansas and starts March 30. She's excited to get out there and do her thing. Her BFF Brylie got her mission call to Reno, Nevada and starts March 2, so it's fun that they're starting close to each other and will both be stateside. Aani is a natural missionary, and we're excited to see how this goes for her and how she's able to share her testimony out in the mission field.
Erm, we went to Disneyland for Addie and mine's birthdays. SERIOUSLY THIS IS THE LAST TIME. For awhile. We're too good at it and need to spend some time away to start missing it. There's something about staying on Harbor Blvd. and walking to Disneyland in the morning when it's wintertime, but the weather is amazing and you get to ride Space Mountain, and that keeps us going back there, but WE ARE DONE NOW. For awhile.
Good hotel lighting? Babe-o-rama.
Since she broke up with her boyfriend, Aani's been meeting all kinds of "righteous baddies" and realizing what kinds of other people are out there.
Addie's been subbing 5th grade a lot, and like has been mentioned, gets pictures and notes every day that she subs. This is a story she got. It's out of order, but I'm confident you'll be able to piece it together. :)
Addie is also super interested in BOG BODIES, so much so that she got a t-shirt about bog bodies.
Also, Addie started college this month. She's going to school full time at SLCC! We have a college student! 🎓
We went to a bonsai tree class and it was pretty fun and cute, and we're wondering how long it will take until we kill this cute tree. We are trying hard to keep it alive.
We also shared a pina colada and that was delightful. I love this fella.
Took Anders to Ruth's Chris for his birthday. He's been waiting for us to take him to a fancy dinner since he learned to type 60 wpm like 5 years ago. We keep our promises.
Anders has spent the last year destroying his shoulder and finally had surgery on it. Labrum repair and bicep tendon repair. The doctor told him he'll have to have a shoulder replacement in 40 years. Good stuff. Recovery is going well!
On my birthday this ride was closed ALL DAY. We took a walk at night around California Adventure to get up to 25,000 steps, and the ride opened at like 8:30 pm, right before the park closed. We scooted our buns over and got to ride it before we had to head home the next morning. Birthday miracle!
Birria sandwich at Disney.
This stormtrooper spent about 10 minutes standing in a circle with us, listening to Aani and Brylie's boy drama and giving advice. As much as advice as he could, given he has only pre-programmed sentences he can spit out. Pretty dang funny.
Brylie got her mission call while we were in California, so we whipped on down to San Diego so she could open her call in front of the temple. That was pretty fun.
Were able to go to dinner with Shiloh, Brian, Indy and Tenzin!
Apple maps thinks it knows us, every time we get in the car it tells us how long it will take to go to Costco. We don't have a problem.
Aani's mission call reveal! Can you spot the clues??
All is well, we just keep chug-a-luggin' along! Work, church, life, kids, health... it's quite a ride.
