Holy Cannoli, we're done with October again! What a month. What a couple of months. It's been a lot.
First of all, everyone is recovered/recovering from our fun accident at the beginning of September. Addie's back to swim, running packages to the post office, babysitting, and going to school. I feel nearly back to normal, except a bit of back soreness and limitations with lifting and explosive exercise and stuff like that.
My shoulder is jacked up and I was told I would need surgery at least three times by various doctors. I went to schedule it on Friday, the doctor was so impressed with my awesomeness that he told me I didn't have to have surgery now! What even! He said if it dislocates again we'll do surgery. I'll focus on physical therapy and getting it stronger and hopefully it will become fully functional again someday.
At the end of September, Nils and I went to LA for VidSummit. I went a day late because I was still having a bit of a rough time physically. I enjoy going to these things, not always because of the presentations or classes, but seeing people and meeting new people who are brilliant and have great ideas that they're willing to share. It's pretty cool.
Nils and Anders went on a 10-day trip to Sweden, Denmark and Iceland at the beginning of the month. Their itinerary was totally crazy in my estimation, so I thought it best if I stay home and let them have their adventures, and did they ever!
While they were gone, the girls and I held down the fort. Ava had her final tennis tournament, and Aani and I drew on all her toes and had some real good times. We also picked our garden watermelons that have been growing since May. Not impressed. We're not good farmers.
Lately:
Ava had her first band concert, and we were impressed with how well they did, and the band teacher who seems super great. He said, "I wake up every day and can't believe how lucky I am to have this job." and we were like, "Wow, that's weird." But we're very thankful for awesome people like him.
