The least Halloweeny Halloween of our (mine and Nils') lives, probably. We spent the entire day working on the basement. We quit around 9:20 pm. We missed all of the trick or treaters! This wasn't premeditated- we just got carried away over there, started assembling the kitchen cabinets and couldn't quit. We want to get this thing DONE.
Nils has spent the better part of the month spending all of his days and evenings over there, and it's looking real nice. Trim and doors are up, flooring is installed (other than carpet in the bedrooms, which we still need to order), and it's looking pretty real. Once all of the finish work is done, the bathroom needs to be done. As per usual, that is the last thing on the list since it's such a big project on its own.
Our goal is to have the basement done by mid-November, and the launch the basement finishing course on Black Friday. It may be a lofty goal, but we need to get it all done so we can move on and focus on other aspects of life and the business.
I've been trying to get more stuff on social media, making reels and short form videos, emailing our newsletter list, working with more sponsors to help fund the basement and our livelihood, and we were approached by a new platform by Raptive, so that's been a whole thing that requires thought, time, and strategy. Hoping to get that launched in the next week or so.
We went to VidSummit at the beginning of the month in Dallas. We have no travel plans for the time being, but that could change at any point, just not in November, since we have too much to do.
Then there's all that church stuff. 😳 Bishoping be rough, man. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Then there's all those kids and family life...
Anders is working and socializing as much as possible.
Addie has been hired as a substitute teacher and is doing her thing.
Aani is nannying and grinding away at cosmetology school.
Ava has senioritis (she's a sophomore), started drivers ed, and is looking for a job for when she turns 16 in a month.
Maybe when I write again at the end of November, the basement will be done for real, we'll have a course completed and launched, and we can get that house rented out. :) That would be swell!
Pictures in no particular order because WHO HAS THE ENERGY FOR THAT:
Nice wig, Aani. She is a hoot and a half.
I wanted to send this to some people when BYU and U of U played a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't because I want friends.
Be good.
