I have a dyson slimline all surface and love it. it goes from carpet to kitchen floor easily and has the hose that puts in and out so fast and easy and the suction is great. We got our on woot so it was realatively affordable. plus i like seeing the crap that it picks up in just one vaccuming.
How can I get some slaves of my own? My family won't listen to me anymore... As for vacuums, I have been through 4 of them in 11 years. And they all sucked, or didn't suck, I guess. If you find a good one, let me know.

find someone with a Kohl's card and a 30% off coupon (you usually have to have a card to use a good coupon) then go when the Dyson's are on sale.
I agree with the Oreck. When a company has been around that long, you know it's good.
The church building vacuum is always good, find out what type those are.

Love my Oreck! My mom had her first one for 12 years...and then she upgraded to an even fancier Oreck just for kicks.
